Metallic Objects

Photographing Metallic objects has been such an awesome activity as it was nice to experiment with cutlery as you never see cutlery being photographed in such an unusual way as restaurants normally just promote the food and the logo of the food company. For example McDonald's, Burger King, Pepe's with these big food companies they always promote their food. Whereas dessert shops such as Heavenly Desserts, Ms Patisserie and Pastry house they focus on their product but they keep the cutlery in the promotional photos as they think that leaving the spoon or fork will make it look very petite and attractive doing that they will make the consumer want to eat and buy the product. metallic photography is used a lot in the industry now as people have just realised that you can photograph things such as cutlery, jewellery, iron and steel. I wanted to photograph cutlery as I wanted to see what cutlery looked like in an ambient light and wanted to experiment what it was like shooting with a flash gun. photographing independently has been really great as it has been nice to work by myself and been great to have my own routine to go out and photograph then to upload my images and prepare and plan my photoshoots has been really fantastic as I know how to do things such as set my camera up as well as changing the settings such as the shutter speed and aperture.
